The enemy's aircraft are grounded with all the airbases being out of action.

This mission will take advantage of this and shall be to hit a large number of units belonging to the 34th Armoured Brigade in Zahlah in the far north. It consists of the following:

291st Tank Battalion (T-72)
292nd Tank Battalion (T-72)
293rd Tank Battalion (T-62)
255th Motor Rifle Battalion (BTR-60)
480th Towed Gun Battalion.

There are other units in and around the area. Threats from the ground consist of SA-7, 8 and 9 SAMs as well as varied AAA.

Despite the unlikely event of air threats arriving, a flight of F-15C IAF will be on CAP for you. They aim to be on station at 0522hrs and plan to be on CAP for thirty minutes.

MS

We took off armed with 4 x AIM-9L and 6 x Mk-20D Rockeyes.
Take off was good and formation recovery was good from Mango and Jules. Jules had IVC issues (couldn't hear anyone though we could hear him) but Teamspeak worked for us.

We climbed went to a cruise altitude of A20 in V formation.

35 miles for the target (we were first in while Mako 3 went cover for us) we descended to A16 in 5 miles trail for the attack.

The targets were clear on GM in EXT mode. We had spikes for SA-8s to the NW/W but pushed the attack.

We dropped all our bombs in one pass with a BA of 2000 ft and separation of 700 ft. This was definitely better than the 300ft spacing we used last time out.

As I came off target I had 3 x SA-9s fired at me from one of the targets below me, which forced me to eject.

2 and 3 continued. Mango dropped his on his first pass but Jules had to go around a couple of times to get his bombs off the rails. He also had SA-9s launched at him but they missed.

They both regrouped and Mango led them home for an overhead break and safe landing on runway 20.

Good flying and bombing by all with no double hits on the same targets occurring.
