Situation
The southern air defenses have been seriously diminished by the efforts of our squadron and others. There is one more airbase still operational preventing us from freely striking into deeper regions and that must now be destroyed.
Mission
Take Udbina Airbase out of action.
Objectives
Udbina Airbase is our primary target. The base houses a squadron of MiG-21s and G-4s. Remnants of an SA-2 battalion are also at the site.
Secondary targets are a couple of mechanised battalions near STPT 8 for the Strike flight which are in close proximity to friendly forces on our line of advance in the south.

A very busy mission despite the lack of actual combat.
Hammer arrived at the target area well in advance of the strike flight and there were a couple of furballs to the south. We left those furballs alone and they resolved themselves in blue's favour.
When strike flight arrived there was a 4-ship of G-4s about 30nm range, but they were off to do something else.
Once strike had destroyed the runway, we pushed our CAP out furhter to the East to provide better protection. We encountered a pair of Mig-29s which were already being engaged by friendlies. One was close enough for Vosene to take a long range shot, which was succesful. The other Mig-29 was taken care of by the friendlies.
After this engagement, we noticed some bandits in very close proximity to the strike flight, having approached from the north. These turned out to be J-22s and were not interested in getting involved. These targets were handed off to the strike flight to monitor.
Also, it turned out that there were some friendly Mig-21s chasing them at very close range. This could have easily lead to a friendly fire incident, so care needs to be taken in identifying targets before engaging.
Hammer continued the CAP patrol until strike flight had vacated the area for the trip home.
Straight in approach landing, given it was night time, went ahead without a hitch.
