Situation

Taegu needs to be recaptured as soon as possible. SAM coverage around Teagu is heavy: SA-10 and SA-17 are the highest known threats, but SA-2, SA-5 and SA-8 are also present.
Red air presence is increasing but not overwheming.
Our flight path has minimal Patriot cover.

Mission

Now 2x SA-10 are down, 2x DEAD flights to destroy both SA-10 Bn entirely so they cannot be resupplied. PPT 65 and PPT69. Secondary target is SA-17 launchers at PPT63.

2-ship Escort flights to sanitize 40NM box around target area, and provide air cover for package.

MS

3 ship DEAD with #1 and #3 turning into the target area as the picture was clear, and #2 holding weapons in reserve.

1 and 3 made 3 attack runs, destroying the 4 SA-10 launchers and associated trucks, and AAA from that battalion. Only one ZPU-2 remained so the mission was declared a success.

2 and 3 also destroyed several SA-17 launchers which were painting us at times during the mission.

Great calls from SATAN7 in the escort allowed us to stay in safe areas at all times. Only once did we get into danger and that was actually to delouse the escort from Su-35 threat from the east.
