MS
Flight was forced to flex the approach route to the target area due to the threat of Mig-31s. We skirted the SA-10 threat circle around to the north, ignoring some Su-27 nails from the north.
Our new approach was from the NE and passed east of the SA-15 threat from the previous mission. A popup SA-8 took a shot at Griffin but missed.
Our approach was coordinated with three separate attack angles with HARM launches separated by 1-2 minutes.
The first HARM shot (Pegasus) took out the Flap Lid so that threat was removed and GATOR7 and MUSTANG3 were called in closer for support.
We had time for some SDB launches, taking out the Big Bird, and 2 of the 4 SA-10 launchers and associated vehicles, leaving the target with just 2 SA-10 launchers remaining in the battalion.
We got jumped by Su-33s, and Mango, being a bit isolated from our flight, and with GATOR7 being a bit blind without Link16 or AWACS support, resulted in the loss of Mango. Griffin cleaned up the Su-33 but too late.
RTB was called with fuel critical. Griffin landed at an unknown airbase for refueling, waving to the enemy ground forces nearby. Griffing then followed Pegasus and GATOR7 to land at the alternate base.
