The last mission was successful in neutrlizing Haegu AB. The escort flight did a fine job of keeping the swarms of MiG23s off the OCA strikes backs while they completed their mission. It was noted that most of the MiGs were being scrambled from Kwail AB.

Consequently, your next task is to destroy the runway and facilities at this air base.

The mission flight plan below, shows your route.

Fig. 2 - Focus on the Target Area

The weather is expected to be clear throughout the mission, but remember that it will still be dark.

Fig. 3 - Briefing for Package 2161

Mission Success shall be awarded for the successfully destroying the runway without any loss of aircraft. The loss of up to one aircraft is permitted for a PS.

There are still five brigades of enemy north of our home plate and just north of the FLOT. All aircraft are required to maintain altitude/distance from these forces when recovering back to base.

Good hunting.

Flight Role: OCA Strike
Cajun21: Pegasus AA=1 AG=1 MIA
Cajun22: Noodle AA=2 AG=1 MIA
Cajun23: Griffin AA=2 AG=0 MIA
Cajun24: Jules AA=0 AG=0 TECH

Lost Jules before takeoff to tech issues.

We pressed on with just a 3 ship split between runway strike (Pegasus and Noodle) and Griffin (Escort).

Encountered a pair of Mig-23s on the way which were dispatched by the AI escort.

Just before we went NOE for the attack, Griffin peeled off to the east to engage a pair of Mig-29As which were getting too close, shooting both down.

After launching GBU-31s at the runway (destroyed) Pegasus and Noodle joined the air battle as there were multiple Mig-23s and 29As approaching from the east. Pegasus got one of the Mig-23s and Noodle 2, but we were all then quickly shot down by further chasing Mig-23s.

There were just too many of them with no support.
