Situation

DPRK have invaded ROK and consolidated their position. Battle lines are now drawn. We have 5 days to turn the tide and capture Seoul in order to achieve victory. If we are unable to do this then we must stop DPRK forces from capturing Pusan in order to avoid defeat and achieve a ceasefire.

Initial Plan
In order to halt the enemy ground forces we are going to destroy the 4x refineries the enemy has in order to prevent fuel resupply. The reason for this and location of the refineries is shown below.

Mission Iron Fortress-1 (IF-1)

To pave the way for the attack against the first two refineries and to provide friendly air assets with freedom of manoeuvre near the FLOT we will focus first on neutralizing enemy AD systems near the FLOT. The first 3 targets are the SA-5 (PPT56) and 2x SA-2 (PPT-57 and PPT-60). Main effort is the SA-5.

Package 2426
JAGUAR4 - DEAD 4x F-16CM-40
MUSTANG4 - ESCORT 4x F-16CM-40

Package Commander has option to flex Escort to a SEAD Escort role if required.

This will also be an opportunity to use our newly Link16 enabled aircraft in action.

Weather
CAVOK

MS - SA-5 FCR and all launchers destroyed + 1x SA-2 FCR destroyed. Max 1x loss to enemy action.
PS - SA-5 FCR and all launchers destroyed. Max 2 losses to enemy action.

Once these AD are down, intent is for the 185th to neutralize the West most SA-2 and attack the two closest refineries in the next mission.

An amazing mission with bandits arrayed all across the FLOT. Mig-29s, -23s, and -21s

While we only got 2 kills (enemy fighters back to their uber-dodging skills) we did keep the DEAD flight safe while they completed their mission completely.

Lessons learned.
1: Utilise the "CEN" mode of the HSH when you are cold to have better visibility of what is behind you on Link16.
2: Zoom in to declutter the Link16 targets as there can be lots out there.
3: Sort your targets with the flight/wingman

MS

First element tasked with the SA-5 , 3 with the western SA-2 and 4 with the Eastern SA-2. With Mustang providing superb cover, 1 and 2 decimated the SA-5, leaving only three trucks standing. 3, did a similar job on the west SA-2 leaving only two SA-14s and a ZU-23. 4 attacked the eastern SA-2 and although damage was lighter, the Fan-Song was destroyed. This opens up a good deal of the front for our aircraft to advance without threat. The PPTs at those targets can be removed.

All pilots returned soundly to base.
