With our ground troops making inroads to the north, the 185th has been relocated closer to the FLOT at Chongju air base.
Our first task from our new home is to deliver a significant blow to troops on our western flank. A number of depleted but dangerous tank battalions are hindering the retaking of the Seosan peninsular. Your job is to destroy these tank battalions.

The image above shows the kill box, which is very close to the FLOT. All the groups in that box are your targets. Care must be taken to ensure no Blue ground troops are damaged.
Package 1976 Banshee 1 - 4 x F-16C-50 - AI, Tcn 11/74 Mudhen 7 - 4 x F-16C-50 - AI, Tcn 12/75 Jackal 7 - 1 x F-16C-50 - Pegasus AWACs
Mission success will be deemed to have been achieved if an average of at least three enemy units per aircraft are destroyed, with a partial success will demand an average of at least two.
Regardless of your enemy kills, it will be deemed a mission failure if ANY friendly ground forces are destroyed.
Good hunting.

AWACS debrief.
The new enemy aircraft AI is exceptionally good at both evading AMRAAMs as well as knowing exactly when to turn hot on you again.
Until this has been changed, you should be very aggressive in your defense against them. When you have turned cold, do not dawdle, but go gates to get your speed up as quickly as possible. If I call over UHF6 that you are to "egress SE" for example, I am doing this for a very urgent reason, usually because you are at, or within MAR for some hostiles. Don't wait for pitbull, but if you are about to take a shot, sure take a few seconds but no more than that. There might be more than one hostile coming at you. I will also let you know when you are safe so you can resume CAP or delouse your wingman/lead.
I will do my best as AWACS to vector supporting aircraft to delouse you.
I have noticed that when things get spicy with hostiles, it becomes difficult for me to get urgent messages out. Brevity on UHF is very important.
1: I will try and assign targets. eg: Banshee 1 [your] target is bullseye 300 40, angels 21, hot [or "track south"] , ID'd as Mig-29A, 2-ship.
2: I will use Bullseye most of the time. If I give you BRAA it is probably because they are uncomfortably close, or the info is just for you alone. I am assuming that BRAA is quicker to convey the location than Bullseye? Tell me if you find Bullseye preferable.
3: If I assign target to "Banshee 1" this means it is for the flight-lead to decide who engages. If I assign to "Banshee 1-2" that means that I know Banshee1-2 is in the best position to engage. For example last night, Gekko (Banshee 1-3) had called "Dakota - switching to air-air" so I knew to position him and assign targets. Same for Fisty although he was also flight lead.
4: Please confirm you are engaging on UHF. If it is responding to my specific target assigned, then "Banshee 1-1 engaging" is fine. Otherwise, if you need to turn and find the target first, confirm with the location of the target you have found. I might give you a directive to crank in a particular direction to keep you safe from other dangers. As an example from last night, I assigned Fisty a 2-ship of Mig-19s on his own (Scooter was still busy A-G). I should have directed Fisty to crank-right as Mig-29s were beginning to be a threat from his left. In the end Fisty did crank right so I had no need to followup. I also placed Gekko where he could support if the Mig29s became a threat, which they did.
5: Don't forget to scan IFF. It is rare that the hostiles are a long way from other friendlies. I will do my best to keep you away from furballs, and let you know if friendlies are in the area, but I might still want to alert you to an potential/emerging threat. The Mig29S 2-ship from last night dispatched an F/A-18 2-ship at close range and then came after our flights from about 40nm at that point. So it went from situation being OK and weapons hold, to immediately engage as priority within a couple of minutes.
6: If I give you a target but you can't find it (no burn through for example), then let me know. I might call you to disengage and then get someone else to delouse you. Scooter last night got far too close in trying to find some targets and was lucky they were apparently also unable to find him too.
7: Once you are within 20nm of threats, I am of limited use at that point. The update frequency of the GCI screen is 10s, and an awful lot can change in 10s. I will not know for even longer than that if a target is splashed. I might see the target losing altitude, but that does not necessarily mean it has been hit/destroyed. A call of "splash at my 4 o'clock" is helpful to me. More so than "splash my target" as targets may have mixed/swapped position, but it is still of some use if you have no better info.
