That was fun.

Flight Role - DEAD
Viper31: "Griffin" AA=0 AG=8 EJT
Viper32: "Mango" AA=0 AG=1 EJT
Viper33: "Gekko" AA=0 AG=6 EJT

MS?

Our task was to search for and destroy an SA-6 battalion. We took off from Ramat David and headed out to sea. Beast 1 did a good job of helping to keep enemy aircraft off us. Once cleared we turned to ward the target at FL200 in trail. The AG radar showed nothing at the target SP but GCI confirmed that our target was there.

We dropped to low level to hide behind a mountain range. As I crested the ridge the target was there at an army base. I came off north and no fire was sent my way from the ground. I informed the flight of the target.

No2 had noted a different column so instead of going to SP5 he decided to go for that instead. He missed the column he was looking for and wandered into a nest of SAM's, eventually falling prey to an SA-6. He ejected.

Three went in and dropped his bombs and I followed. Between us all radars and missiles were destroyed. As I turned south an SA-7 was launched at me and critically damaged my jet, making me eject.

No 2 was returning home but was shot down by a MiG-23.

Lessons learned;
1. This campaign doesn't have the bells and whistles we are used to. Learn to keep formation and visual SA must improve.
2. Follow the plan and don't wander away from the flight.
3. AIM-9P are rear aspect only. Head on attacks are not recommended.
