Command has become more and more concerned about the Chinese involvement and is determined to bloody their noses.

In the NW there is a known carrier group, consisting of at least one Liaoning CLS carrier and supporting destroyers. Your task is to destroy the carrier and any other ships that you can.

Fig. 1 - Recent Intel Over the Target Area.

We know that the carrier can carry 40 aircraft, which are known to be at least SU-30KK equivalents. We have recorded kills against this compliment but there will be significant numbers left.

The aircraft carriers defence are surprising light with only HQ-10 short range (~6 miles) IR missiles. However, the supporting destroyers are equipped with SA-N-7 (SA-11) with a range of 15 miles.

You are strongly advised to avoid ALL enemy contact until on the attack leg of your flight.

The package consists of two flights totalling eight aircraft, details below. Command have relocated the 1999th squadron of F-16C-52 ROKAFs, that are Harpoon carrying platforms.

Mission Success Criteria
Package success will be the sinking of the Liaoning CLS with one loss to the package. A partial will be sinking of the Liaoning or other ships with up to two losses to the package.

Copper 3 will be on station by the time you return for refuelling, UHF 289.65.

Good hunting.

Cyborg22: "Mango" AA=0 AG=0 KIA
Cyborg23: "Jules" AA=0 AG=0 KIA

MF

Take off and rejoin was good and the initial climb was going well until we encountered numerous groups of J-15 (Chinese SU-30s). A two-ship from the north and a further two-ship from the NW. Behind them was a further flight of four and another two-ship was behind them.

We were still too low, very heavy and seriously out gunned. We did manage to engage and killed one of them but the outcome was written on the wall and we all died.

This was all before steerpoint 4!
