Command has decided to take you off air patrols in order for you to help with the allied push on the FLOT.
A number of our units have pushed into the 'neutral' area and some units have somehow managed to move deep into enemy territory.
Your task is to hit enemy ground targets and ease the load on our ground units.
Fig. 1 - Flight plan for Package and strike zone
Jackal 5 and Hammer 5 are tasked to hit the numerous groups of mechanised columns moving in the area.
Jackal are to focus on the east of the kill box while Hammer S&D in the west.
Note that friendlies are close so do not venture outside of the prescribed kill box.
Fig. 2 - Flight briefing for Package 3079
Mission Success Criteria Package success will be the delivery of all munitions and an average of four kills per aircraft per flight. A partial will be an average of three kills per aircraft per flight. Losses to ground threats will result in a mission failure for that flight.
Other Information 1. The 1999th have been tasked to hit the Chinese aircraft carrier. We wish them good fortune in that endeavour.
2. The 5038th squadron has been posted to Suwon to assist in the effort. These are F/A-18Cs and will provide invaluable help in future packages.
Good hunting.
Results Flight Leads in this Sunday's official mission, "4.36.3 KTO Rolling Fire 21" are requested to post a debrief of their flight's actions, including any lessons learned or that should be learned by others.

Flight Role: AI
Jackal 51: "Griffin" AA=1 AG=6 RTB Jackal 52: "Gekko" Tech Jackal 53: "Mango" AA=0 AG=0 KIA
PS
Gekko tried a number times to get in the pit but to no avail and when he joined while his AI was airborne, the aircraft exploded. Very odd.
The remaining two flew to the target area and found moving targets. Both planes launched at them with CBU-104s but they are not good for moving targets and both attacks missed.
We searched for other targets and found static ones at SP6. I managed six kills with two bombs; a disappointing return for clusters bursting at 2000ft. Mango recorded no kills.
We started to regroup to offer Hammer air support, when a force of J-15s came in. We launched at them to no avail. Mango was especially unlucky when an undetected leaker shot him down seconds before that same leaker was destroyed by our Patriot. Really unlucky timing.
I continued to offer cover while Hammer finished. They then joined me in air to air work. I scored one Q-6 kill before being Winchester. We RTB'd with a straight in approach on 15L as it was dark by the time we got back to Suwon.

Flight Role: AI
HAMMER51: "Noodle" AA=1 AG=6 RTB HAMMER52: "Jules" AA=0 AG=0 RTB
PS
Our flight worked the SW end of the box, where we spotted many ground units. We carried mixed loadout of CBU-107 and GBU-54. All units were lined up NE/SW so we decided to come in from the SW. #2 had some trouble getting the markpoints, but visually acquired target. Good sorting but #2 could not get bombs off as both GBUs and CBUs were OFF. #1 got weapons on target, but with minimal effects for the CBU-107.
During our 3rd leg, we got spiked by J-15 from the NW and had to go green lane. The patriot took care of the threat. We reset for A-G and got the last bomb off for #1, still no luck for #2. More threats showed up from the NW, possibly an enemy strike package coming directly towards us. #1 engaged with JACKAL51 while #2 was still troubleshooting, but ended up jettisoning bombs to support with the air engagement. #1 and #2 both ended up with hung slammers and it was time to RTB. Fuel check revealed #2 at 1800lbs, so he was cleared to RTB first. #1 followed JACKAL51 for a straight approach.
