The north western front is moving rapidly into the enemy territory and the crucial strategic sites of Bihac and Zadar are within reach of our troops. The latter is now cut off from the rest of the country.

Intel informs us that the ground forces available to the enemy is very low, compounded by the complete destruction of their air force. A large concentration of forces have been located around Sisak and Command want to take the opportunity to reduce their numbers.

Fig. 1 - Close up of the Target Area

Both flights have identical steerpoints to enable easier inter-flight co-ordination.

Besides the usual array of scattered AAA and lower threat SAMs/Manpads, the defences at and around your targets are minimal. You should obviously take care to avoid these threats.

Fig. 2 - Briefing Summary for Package 1741

Flight lead of Jaguar 3 shall be Package Commander. Both Jaguar 3 and Bulldog 1 should co-ordinate as a single flight over the target area.

Your mission today is to destroy as many enemy assets as possible. Your loadout is at flight leads discretion.

Mission Success Criteria
Package success will be the destruction of an average of six kills per pilot with no losses.

Partial Success shall be for the destruction of an average of four kills per pilot, again with no losses.

Good Hunting.

Our task was to S&D targets at sp5 while Bulldog did the same at SP6. We were hoping for columns of troops and vehicles for us to attack. Unfortunately this wasn't the case and our targets were in singles or pairs. They were also moving.

We were carrying 4 x GBU54s and we had sorted laser codes pre-flight. However, we forgot to enable this on page 2 of the SMS page on a few occasions and wasted a number of bombs between us. Having to enable that for EACH bomb individually compounded the matter. If we had switched on to that then we may have met our MS or PS criteria but alas, we did not.

We RTB'd rather disappointed by our mistakes, but all got home albeit with a bent No3 who landed heavily and couldn't stop, forcing him to eject before his aircraft rolled into the fence.
