Our initial mission to dent the defences of the Chinese on the SW corner of North Korea was very successful. A complete SA-17 battalion was destroyed along with damage to a nearby AAA battalion and other buildings. The enemy's air assets were hit as well as the SEAD di their job.

This time, after picking up intel from that last flight, you are tasked with taking out military shipping.

Fig. 2 - Target Area

Your route is relatively identical to the last mission, with the same threats.

Both flights have similar steerpoints to enable easier inter-flight co-ordination.

The primary target is the 56th SAG Task Force, consisting of two Jiangwen II type 053H3 CLS frigates. Both ships need to be destroyed.

These ships defences against aircraft consists of AAA guns and HQ-7 SAMs. The latter have a range of 12 miles and can reach altitudes in excess of 18,000 feet. It is command guided and IR homing.

#1 and #2 planned simultaneous attach on the 2 frigates with GBU-10, #3 was back up for any of the frigates, and to take out air defences close by with GBU-54.

Picture clear on ingress, supported by blue air.

1st frigate destroyed by #1, but #2 could not lock up his on the TGP, so came off dry.
#1 now heads up with #3 20NM trail, as J-15 came to investigate from NW.
Threat was kept at a distance, so #2 could recommit and get bombs on target.
SA-11 and SA-15 were very active in the area. Also spiked by SA-10.

#1 and #2 now on CAP, while #3 takes care of AAA battalion and SA-15s.

3x J-15 showed up from the NW, 2 of them were dealt with, and the 3rd one decided it was a better idea to turn around.

Flight now bingo, so headed home.

Uneventful egress and recovery.

Busy flight with good results.
