Our focus after a nights rest is to fly at dawn in support of our allies on the mid northern front.

Groups of mechanised troops have been spotted moving in the area and you need to reduce their numbers before they get to the front.

Fig. 1 - Spotted Ground Troops at Approx 0100 Local Time

The above GCI image will have changed over the fours hours since. Indeed, some of the mechanised troops are being engaged to the SW of the area.

Fig. 2 - Flight Plan for Package

The flight plan shows our route to the target area. Latest GCI shows nothing but reports from the front indicated battalions of T-80s and other mechanised troops are in the AI area.

Plasma 1 will provide an escort while Hawkeye 7 will be tasked with destroying as many units as possible.

Ground threats consist of a reported SA-4, a previously found SA-6 and SA-9, 15 and 19s as well as the usual array of manpads.

Air threats of J-11s from the north and west are the main threat. Remember that MiG 29s are allied fighters.

Your loadout is at flight leads discretion.

Mission Success Criteria
Package success will be finding and destroying of an average of three vehicles per aircraft. A maximum of one loss is permitted.

Partial Success shall be awarded for destroying of an average of two vehicles per aircraft, again with only one loss, max.

Good Hunting.

Flight Role: AI
Hawkeye71: Pegasus AA=2 AG=7 RTB
Hawkeye72: Gekko AA=1 AG=6 MIA
Hawkeye73: Fisty AA=1 AG=8 RTB

We bit off more than we could manage in this mission. While the kill scores look alright, we lost Gekko and the Escort lost another 2 making it a mission fail.

Lessons learned for the AI flight.
1: Respect the call from escort flight to regress to safety. Do not be tempted to "just another few seconds" as this can make all the difference.
2: Be prepared to abort mission and drop AG stores if the situation is changing.
3: Specifically for this campaign, there is still plenty of air and SAM threats for us to take care of first.
