Flight launched 6 Harpoons at the carrier group. It was not possible to discern the carrier from the escorts on radar, and cloud cover prevented any realistically safe VID. 2 Harpoons failed due to hung stores (potentially not holding pickle for long enough).
Only one Harpoon made it to the target and impacted the Kirov (Cruiser), not the carrier (Kuznetzov).
Not that it is likely to help in future missions, but the carrier was the furthest west of the group of 5 contacts.
Several discoveries during this mission. - SA-10s are very effective at shooting down Harpoons
- The carrier based SA-N-6 (SA-10 equivalent) was active but missed all Harpoons
- The carrier based SA-N-9 (SA-15 equivalent) was active but missed all Harpoons
The carrier based SAMs missing may well have been because the SA-10s already hit the Harpoons - hard to know for sure.

The Kusnetsov is the lead vessel in the flotilla's V formation.
