Welcome back to Korea and congratulation on holding the line in your last campaign. While we have been away using the A model, our Block 52 have had some upgrades, time to test them out.
This will be a familiarization flight in KTO. Advice will be available during the flight on how to use the upgraded features.
Package
Banshee5 - 4 x F-16CCM-52 - Trg, Tcn 11/74 D/L 11-14 Mako4 - 4 x F-16CM-52 - Trg, Tcn 12/75 D/L 21-24
MS- No losses, all human controlled aircraft land safely. PS - Max 2 losses, all other human controlled aircraft land safely.

Flight Objectives
Ramp - The flight will start at dawn. Ramp the aircraft and check out the external lighting control upgrades and new HMCS boresighting.
After take-off, refine your HMCS boresight then proceed towards the target, these are different for both flights but there is an Engineer unit around the target area. Practice finding these using the upgraded A2G radar and also try using the HMCS to mark ground targets. Each aircraft has 3x BDU-33 for practicing bombing these targets.
Once completed on the range there is a friendly Patriot missile system. You have one HARM loaded. In the DTC setup the ALIC code for patriot. There is another missile system nearby that you should detect on your RWR, again this is friend but practice coding the HARM in the aircraft to detect this SAM system. Note, DO NOT FIRE ANY HARMS, this is just to practice setting up the ALIC tables from the DTC and in the aircraft.
Once off target, proceed to the A2A refuel point (different for both flights). Practice the updated comms procedures and dust off your A2A refuelling skills. For anyone who doesn't want to do this, there is an airport nearby where you can land and hot pit refuel, although you will need to look up the frequencies.
Once off the tanker, do the g warmup exercise for g tolerance, re-boresight your HMCS then head up to the border and see if you can see any enemy aircraft on radar. Have a look at the upgraded Aim-120C DLZ with extended range. If the enemy gets within 40nm hot then you are cleared to engage. Note the radar modes used for missile DL will now effect where the missile is looking when it goes pitbull.
Once you've completed your border sweep, RTB with an OHB, fuel allowing.
Results Flight Leads in this Sunday's official mission, "4.36 KTO Mission 1" are requested to post a debrief of their flight's actions, including any lessons learned or that should be learned by others.

First Sunday flight for Pixy flying as #2, all went smooth.
#1 could not get HMCS align (any) as I had issue with key bindings and could not turn HMCS on. #2 and #3 aligned coarse then fine in the air.
Patriot and SA-2 stayed silent.
We got to the target area (bridge) and spotted the engineer battalion just north of it. Markpoint was created and shared with the flight. Racetrack set, we shacked the whole column with 4 GBU-54.
We rejoined in combat wing and proceeded to the tanker, #1 and #2 topped up to 10.000, #3 had a bit more difficulties staying on the boom but had enough fuel, so we moved to the next CAP area, with #3 taking spacing.
We were monitoring the contacts of Banshee and not far after contacts showed up from the NW, 4 ship su-27. We engaged them head on with #1 and #2 dispatching 3 slammers and #3 2, all of them were dragged by the bandits. 3 of them were and one was chasing #3 so #1 turned back hot for delouse, with a fox 3 on a hot bandit at 20NM, still missed.
The whole flight was now cold, and the flankers dangerously closing up on us, we were headed for the green lane when the server crashed.

PS
After ramp start, tried to do HMCS coarse align. #2 and #3 had issue. Must make sure Master Mode is set to Nav when boresighting HMCS as otherwise you can’t align. #2 had issues with NWS so left and rejoined once airborne. #1 and #3 departed just after Mako4.
With flight together we proceeded towards ground targets. Saw pre-programmed Patriot on WPN page then went through how to add other threats in flight. At target area looked at A2G radar changes and #1 set a mark point using HMCS over bridge. Had some difficulty finding Eng unit, who were moving South through city towards bridge. After locating #1 and #3 dropped BDU-33.
After coming off target, #1 and #3 proceeded to tanker. #2 flew to hotpit refuel airfield but unfortunately crashed into ground on final approach due to distraction. #1 requested individual refuel and #3 did the same, this worked well. #1 got 7600 lbs then had a disconnect and could not get tanker to reconnect. Called done then #3 successfully took 7500 lbs, including tanking in the turn, well done.
Got onto A2A station and immediately picked up 4xSu-27, 2 groups split 10nm in range, to North and hot. Engaged. #1 fired at 30nm at lead and cranked, #3 got too close at 12nm but also fired but then went defensive. With both friendlies and enemies cold #1 planned to disengage and move into Patriot coverage but had to turn hot to support #3. Second engagement #1 fired 2 Slammer, both times radar dropped lock right after launch, will have to investigate reason. #3 again got too close at 12nm and ended up defensive again. Running for the Patriot cover, #3 was shot down turning hot to meet the threat, now WVR. #1 got inside SAM defensive but neither Patriot or SA-2 lit up at all during the flight. An Su-27 overflew #1 at high altitude conning so #1 pitched up and shot an AiM-9x, which hit it. Just then the server crashed due to an issue unrelated to 4.36.
Overall a good mission with a chance for people to learn some of the key differences in 4.36. The incident at the border resulted in Su-27 trespassing into South Korea and may well result in conflict escalation by next Sunday.
