Recent mission s have highlighted the threat to our aircraft from AAA and manpads, particularly those flying at low level.
This mission will be to hit a significant battalion near the southern FLOT. It consists of T-55 tanks as well as AAA and manpads. Your task is to destroy this battalion. If you have weapons to spare, then the remnants of an SA-2 battalion to the east is ripe for finishing off.
Your primary task is to attack the tank battalion.

Mission Success for Mustang 7 will be for the AI to survive all AA threats without loss and a Partial will be given if one of Plasma 3 is lost before making it's attack.
Good Hunting.

The lack of air threats meant we could rest the escort flight.
We took off armed with 4 x AIM-9L and 6 x Mk-20D Rockeyes. The element went to air cover at A23 while the lead went to A16 for the attack.
The initial point was too close to the target and we had to go around and extend south for the second set up. We dropped all our bombs in one pass with a BA of 2000 ft and separation of 300 ft. While all our bombs hit home I think a larger spacing would have worked better.
We came off and went to air cover and the element went in for their attacks. The battalion hadn't moved and were still in a nice north- to south orientation. Guided by smoke for the first attack and the AG radar the element completed their attack successfully.
We regrouped in echelon left for a right hand break for a succesful landing on runway 20.
Good flying and bombing by all with no double hits on the same targets occurring.
