The wing was stood down overnight to allow you some recovery. In the meantime, our forces have made some progress up the central FLOT, while other forces remain at a stalemate. Intel tells us that the enemy has managed to repair some of it's air bases, so their air activity has increased somewhat.
As dawn approaches, you have been tasked with destroying the runway (32/14) at Kwail, home to MiG23s. There is reportedly some SA15 threats a mile or two north of the air base and these need suppressing.
Mako 7, has been tasked for the destruction of the runway.
There are two supporting flights in the package, Panther 7 and Lynx 7, the latter being a two ship F-15C escort.
Panther 7 is a four ship AI/Escort flight, with the ground priority being the SA-15 SAMs. However, it's overriding priority remains protecting Mako 7.
The image below shows the route of the package, with the highlighted one being the F-15C flight.

This next image shows a close up of the target area, including the reported position of the SA-15 battalions. These are possibly mobile and weapons to destroy them should be chosen appropriately.

Note the enemy contacts shown on Fig 2. A further two contacts were spotted slightly earlier in the same area.

The weather is clear at the target with winds from the north east. Unfortunately the weather at home plate is poor with cross winds.
Mission Success shall be awarded for successfully destroying the runway without any loss of aircraft. The loss of up to one aircraft from the strike flight is permitted for a PS.
Good hunting.
Results Flight Leads in this Sunday's official mission, "Iron Fortress 22" are requested to post a debrief of their flight's actions, including any lessons learned or that should be learned by others.

PS
On ingress, we had to take a single orbit in place while some Mig-23, 21 and 29 threats were dealt with, as we were getting a bit too close to the fight.
We resumed direct to the target and arrived immediately after Panther 7, landing our GBU31-APs on the runway and SDBs on other airbase infrastructure.
Kwail is thoroughly destroyed. PS only because of a couple of losses to Escort and SEAD/AI flights in the package.

It's a Mission Success. The criteria was that all the Strike Flight survived, which you did. The losses came from the other two flights so don't impact on the result.

Monitored a group of MiG-23 to NE on ingress but ended up being no factor Refocused on a 2-ship MiG-21. #2 got a shot away but bandit dragged it out. #2 then Deloused #1 with a Fox 3 MiG-21 kill as #1 had some technical issues that prevented a Fox 3 launch in this first engagement.
Second engagement was against a 2-ship MiG-29S supporting Panther7. #1 killed a MiG-29S but were both forced defensive by R-77 shots. #1 managed to evade but #2 became disoriented in the dark and flew into the ground evading the missile.
#1 then splashed the remaining MiG-21 from the first engagement who had now turned hot again.
Finally on CAP, remaining aircraft in Lynx7 provided support to package during strikes but no further A2A engagements. OHB back at home plate after following package back home as tail end Charlie.
