Information about the Rank system and Awards: Following is the rank system and list of awards, in order of precedence, that will be given to officers and pilots in the 185th squadron according to their accomplishments.

185th Rank System
The pilots rank is based upon his/her relative position in the squadron
in combination with courses passed and time spent with the 185th.

Award ribbons
Award Ribbons based upon nomination
Nomination can be made by any pilot or member of the 185th VFS. See definition for the individual award ribbon for guidance. The nomination is made, in writing (e-mail), to the 185th Command for evaluation and final decision. Do not include the nominee in the e-mail. Attach any information that may help in Commands decision, i.e. ACMI files, screenshots and be as specific as possible as to why you think the nominee deserves this award. In the event you wish to nominate someone from Command, send your nomination to the Senior Officers of the 185th VFS excluding your nominee.
Squadron Commendation - Commendation for outstanding work within the 185th Virtual Fighter Squadron.
Unit Commendation - Commendation for outstanding work within a specific 185th flight.
Achievement Medal - Awarded for good work within the 185th Virtual Fighter Squadron.
Presidential Unit Citation - Awarded after a Heroic action.
Unit Citation - To those who in face of great danger helped a friendly pilot.
Distinguished Medal - Awarded after a Meritorious action.
Award Ribbons based upon achievement
Recognition Ribbon - Awarded after serving at least 6 months in total as a Senior Officer in the 185th Reservoir Dogs.
Longevity Service Award - Awarded after flying 78 online missions with the 185th Reservoir Dogs.
185th Distinguished Service Medal - To those who have been in the 185th 12 months and have flown at least 30 missions.
Meritorious Unit Citation - For those who complete 13 online missions with the 185th Reservoir Dogs.
Continuity Award - To those who completes 42 out of 52 missions (or 80% of the missions) during 1 year in the 185th VFS.
Sierra Hotel League Winner - Awarded to the overall winner of the annual 185th Sierra Hotel League.
Top Dog League Winner - Awarded to the overall winner of the annual 185th Top Dog League.
Combat Readiness Medal - Granted to those who has taken part in 10 combat missions for the 185th.
Purple Heart - Granted to those who suffer 10 combat bailouts.
Advanced Training Ribbon - To those who has completed 2 Advanced Training Courses.
Training Ribbon - To those who has completed 2 Basic Training Courses.
   
Award Ribbon Devices
Gold and Silver Oak Leaf Clusters are used to indicate multiple award ribbons.
Multiple Gold Oak Leaf Cluster - Indicates second and subsequent entitlements of an award ribbon.
Multiple Silver Oak Leaf Cluster - Indicates 6th, 11th,... entitlements or in lieu of 5 Gold Oak Leaf Clusters.
Multiple Silver/Gold Oak Leaf Clusters - Silver Oak Leaf Clusters are worn to the left of Gold Oak Leaf Clusters.
 

Combat Ribbons
All A-A mission and A-G mission ribbons, i.e. combat ribbons, are for combat against human pilots, not AI's. Awarding of these ribbons are
restricted to Human vs Human events arranged by the 185th Command Staff and notice will be given when such an event has been arranged.

Air to Air Combat
Distinguished Service Medal - Granted to those with Defense Superior Service Medal.
Defense Superior Service Medal - Granted to those with 50 confirmed A-A kills.
Distinguished Flying Cross - Granted to those with 40 confirmed A-A kills.
Bronze Star - Granted to those with 30 confirmed A-A kills.
Defense Meritorious Service Medal - Granted to those with 20 confirmed A-A kills.
Meritorious Service Medal - Granted to those with 10 confirmed A-A kills.
Joint Services Commendation - Granted to those with 5 confirmed A-A kills.
Air Achievement Medal - Granted to those with 1 confirmed A-A kill.

Air to Ground Combat

Medal of Honor - Granted to those with Silver Star.
Silver Star - Granted to those with 50 successful A-G missions.
Legion of Merit - Granted to those with 40 successful A-G missions.
US Corps Medal - Granted to those with 30 successful A-G missions.
Air Medal - Granted to those with 20 successful A-G missions.
Joint Services Achievement Medal - Granted to those with 10 successful A-G missions.
Combat Action Ribbon - Granted to those with 5 successful A-G missions.
First Blood Ribbon - Granted to those with 1 successful A-G mission.
